JOB PURPOSE
The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for supporting the Manager-Sales & Projects in driving the sales performance of the company, coordinating between different departments of sales professionals, accounts, projects, and executing the overall sales strategy. This role involves overseeing daily sales operations, developing relationships with key clients, analyzing market, and contributing to the achievement of business goals.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES
- Identify customer needs, create value, generate inquiries, and secure orders in line with defined targets.
- Assist in the development and execution of the company’s sales strategies.
- Support the Sales Manager in meeting sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify new sales opportunities and monitor emerging market trends.
- Lead new sales initiatives to capture assigned demographics, customers, segments, or territories, and expand the customer base.
- Stay informed about market conditions, competitor activities, and industry developments.
- Provide insights to the team and management regarding potential opportunities and risks.
- Help resolve customer issues and respond to inquiries.
- Be directly or indirectly responsible for ensuring timely payment collection.
- Prepare systematic reports as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with ISO procedures.
- Manage CRM systems, databases, and the knowledge management portal effectively.
QUALIFICATION
B.E / B. Tech Mechanical / Chemical
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Package Sales / Capital Goods. The candidate should possess knowledge of mechanical equipment used in solidification processes and demonstrate expertise in package category equipment, including upstream and downstream systems, control systems, piping, sub-assemblies, and sourcing of outsourced components. The candidate must be capable of effectively negotiating techno-commercial aspects both internally and with clients.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
- Fundamental technical knowledge of packaged items such as pumps, piping, structural components, welding, solidification, and heat transfer.
- Accurate identification of customer needs based on provided data.
- Management of tenders for consultants, EPCs (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction firms), and end customers.
- Preparation of RFQs (Request for Quotations) as per tender requirement and identification of suitable suppliers.
- Estimation & Costing
- Handling of orders through close collaboration with internal teams and external clients.
- Documentation as per ISO 9001-2015
- CRM software and Microsoft office tools

OTHER INFORMATION
- Travel is an integral part of the job. The candidate must be willing to travel across the assigned geographic region and throughout India as needed.
- Work Location: Work from Home office. Visit to Head office in Pune as and when required.
